Below is a list of my top 10 guidelines to follow when engaging in a PLN. By putting these guidelines into practice, online collaboration will be safe and positive.

1. Remember that you are communicating with humans, despite communicating behind a computer screen. – Treat others as you would like to be treated.

2. Respect other people’s time – Ensure your post is worthwhile to read.

3. Make use of appropriate language and grammar

6. Reach out to the online community – Ask for assistance when needed.

7. Be forgiving of other people’s mistakes

8. Keep flame wars under control

9. Know where you are in cyberspace. – Lurk before you leap

10. Identify yourself. - Introduce yourself, use a display photo, include your name in posts.
